Mr. William Driskell, also known as "Duck", of 221 North Warren Street Apt. 1-H Milledgeville, Georgia passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Navicent Health Macon, Georgia.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at 11:00 AM from the Victory Baptist Church, Milledgeville, Georgia. Interment was held in Wood Place Cemetery, Eatonton, Georgia.
Mr. William Cardell Driskell was born May 17, 1959 in Milledgeville, Georgia to the parentage of the late Mr. Harry Lawrence and Mrs. Sarah Lee Driskell.Mr. William is a graduate of Baldwin High School. After graduation, he served several years in the US Army. As a man of may trades, he worked as a Medical Transporter at Central State Hospital, and even helped build the new wing of Oconee Regional Medical Center. He was the lead contractor for his best friend, Mr. William Phelps, where he completed various painting and plumbing jobs. He also enjoyed being of service to the Riverbend Apartments community by taking on various maintenance tasks, while also spending time with friends and neighbors.
As a child, William was baptized at his family church, New Hope Baptist Church of Milledgeville, Georgia. He was again baptized in his adult years at Poplar Springs Baptist Church of Sandersville, Georgia by Reverend Perry Davis. His greatest wish was to teach Sunday school after his recovery.
William had a great appreciation for art and was an excellent artist. He had an even greater love for people and never met a stranger. He loved to dance, and even enjoyed reading poetry. He was full of life and jokes, and enjoyed spending time with his loved ones. Despite all adversity, he was sure to always have a smile on his fave and dap in his walk.
On Thursday, August 2, 2018, "Duck" was called home. He is survived by his daughter, Ms. Katrina Coykesha Driskell, of Macon, GA; step-daughters: Tracy and Khadijia, both of Milledgeville, GA; step-sons: Tony, of Stone Mountain, GA, Howard, Jr., of Knoxville, TN. He leaves siblings: Mary Driskell Waller, of Macon, GA, Linda Faye Driskell, Harry Driskell, Jr., Sarah Vernice Driskell, Sabrina Justice, all of Milledgeville, GA, Regina Arlene Rooks, of Monticello, GA; four grandchildren, his devoted companion, Shonna Kay Wiggins, best friend, William Phelps; a host several other relatives and friends.
