Sandy Butts Obituary

Mr. Sandy Butts, of 235 Old James Road, Haddock, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at his residence.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 1:00 PM from the Haddock Baptist Church, Haddock, Georgia. Interment was held in Hickory Cemetery, Sparta, Georgia

Mr. Sandy Butts was born November 7, 1959 in Hancock County to Mr. Carey Butts and the late Mrs. Francis Williams Butts. Also preceding him in death brothers Willie Williams, Henry Warren, brother-in-law Bryce James and father-in-law Alan Williams.

Sandy attended public school in Hancock County and finished in Baldwin County. He was a 1979 graduate of Baldwin High where he played basketball for the Braves. After finishing school, he worked at numerous of jobs before going to work for Rheem for 26 years and Central State for 22 years where he retired.

Sandy was a loving, kind hearted, and devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend. He had a big generous heart that always put others before himself. He was a man of status that believe that "The man is head" Ephesians 5:23. He was a hard worker, great provider, good dancer, sharp dresser and love the color red. He loved all the Georgia teams and was a die hard Falcon fan and a perfect fish fryer. He was truly a "Great Man".

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife: Gwendolyn, four children: Latiesha Colise James of Atlanta, GA, Anika Chanel' (Mark Anthony) Williams of Virginia Beach, Shelby Mason of Haddock, GA, Rodriguez Feyon Hartry of Milledgeville, GA; his father: Carey Butts of Milledgeville, GA; seven grandchildren: O'nijah Rodrielle Butts, Tyler Quanta Baker, Brandon Levi, Aubrey Olivia, Allison Claire, Mason Alexander Williams, Briuna Q Hartry; four brothers: Freddie (Sheila) Butts of Savannah, GA, Jimmy (Linda) Butts of Irwinton, GA, Richard (Janice) Butts of Milledgeville, GA, Rufus Butts of Atlanta, GA; three sisters: Maxine (Robert) Moss, Ruby (Willmond) Trawick of Milledgeville, GA, Juanita (WIllie) Forney of Sparta, GA; two brother-in-law: Michael Tinsley of Haddock, GA, Danny (Roselyn) of Atlanta, GA; seven sister-in-law Pearl McGinnis, Gloria (Hebert) Dawkins of Birmingham, AL, Linda (Ajibade) Ogundipe of Germantown, MD, Elizabeth Fleming of Gray, GA, Jeanette (Charles) May of Texas, Jewel James of Fayetteville, NC, mother-in-law: Dorothy Williams of Haddock, GA; two aunts: Alice Buck of Milledgeville, GA, Mildred Bryant of Haddock, GA; and a host of in-laws, nieces,nephews,cousins, and friends. Among his devoted friends, Roger Wheatly and Valerie Trawick.
