Mrs. Ruby Wright, of Milledgeville, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Pine Pointe Hospice Macon, Georgia.
Funeral services were held on Monday, February 25, 2019 at 11:00 AM from the Friendship Baptist Church, Milledgeville, Georgia. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Ruby Lucille Morgan Wright was the second oldest daughter of sixchildren born to the parentage of the late Johnnie Morgan and Pauline Veal Morgan.
Ruby, also known as “Lil Bay” was born on May 6, 1924 in Baldwin County, Georgia, where she attended public schools.
A praying woman, she was dedicated to God and knew the importance of accepting Christ as her personal Savior. She transitioned to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at the Pine Pointe Hospice Center in Macon, GA.
Ruby retired from Central State Hospital after thirty (30) plus years of service. She continued to volunteer with the Older American Council of Middle Georgia under the retired Senior Volunteer program, where she received a Faithful Service Award for contributing he time, experience, knowledge and interest to others in the community.
Her big heart was always filled with love, and she continued to share that love even to the very end. One of her favorite past times was cooking checker board cakes, chicken and dumplings, and homemake vegetable soup. She loved feeding anyone who visited her home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Wright, Sr., her daughter, Rubye M. Beckom, and her son, Melvin Wright.
Her memory shall continue to be cherished by her loving and devoted daughter, Prophetess Gwen Phelps (Apostle Henry) of Sarasota, Florida; one son, Carl Wright, Jr., whose last known address was Atlanta, Georgia; seven precious grandchildren, Nicholas Beckom, LaTasha Young, Michael Young, Shorndrina W. Davis (Dewayne), Tameka Wright, Brandi W. Dickson (Marshvelli), all of Milledgeville, GA and Shawn Wright of Atlanta, GA; eight great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; one sister, Gloria Dunmeyer (Robert) of Charleston, SC; one brother-in-law, Emmett Wright of Camden, New Jersey; one sister-in-law, Lillian Wright of Milledgeville, GA; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
