Mrs. Mattie Ross, of 188 Orange Street, Haddock, Georgia passed away on Monday, October 1st, 2018 at Navicent Health Baldwin, Milledgeville.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 1:00 PM from the Greater Jordan Chapel AME Church, 1415 Ga Highway 22, Haddock, Georgia. Interment was held in the Ellis Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, Haddock, Georgia.
Mrs. Mattie M. Brooks Ross was born on May 13, 1942 in Jones County to the parents of Mrs. Marie and Mr. Woodrow Brooks.
Mrs. Mattie M. Ross attended the Jones county school system.
In 1964 she married James Ross, who preceded her in death. She joined Jordan Chapel at an early age. She was employed at Cherokee Products and Vassett.
Mattie departed this life on Monday, October 1, 2018 at Baldwin Navicent Health.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marie and Woodrow Brooks; one daughter, Barbara Brooks; one grandson, Rodney Ross.
She leaves to cherish in loving memories, daughter, Debra Ross, of Milledgeville, GA; two sons: Gregory Ross, James Ross, Jr., both of Haddock, GA; one sister, Vera Soloman, of Haddock, GA; nine grandchildren: Lashonda Hall (Lavirtue), Octavia and Sheareece Ross, all of Covington, GA, Shanetra Ross, of Milledgeville, GA, Latoyia Ross, Markey Ross, both of Haddock, GA, Anthony Ross, Maurice Redding, both of Milledgeville, GA; four sisters-n-law: Marie Ross, Annie Thelma Balkom, of Haddock, GA, Christine Ross, of Milledgeville, GA; two brothers-n-law: Clay Ross (Verdene), J.C. Solomon, both of Milledgeville, GA; devoted friends: Lucy Hurt, Bishop Lee, Mary Wilson, Ella Pearl Manson, Francis Napier, Sandra Haynes; a devoted niece whom I will never forget, Linda; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
