Mrs. Mary Harris, of 163 Allen Memorial Drive, Milledgeville, Georgia passed away on Friday, September 14, 2018 at her residence.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 11:00 AM from the Victory Baptist Church, Milledgeville, Georgia. Interment was held in the Scenic Memorial Gardens, Milledgeville, Georgia.
Mrs. Mary Helen Harris was born on September 21, 1941 in Milledgeville, Georgia to the late Ms. Ophelia Milner and the late Mr. Sam Holt. Mary was educated in the public schools of Baldwin County and Georgia College, Milledgeville, Georgia. Mary worked at Central State Hospital until she became disabled and retired.
Mary was a faithful member of the Mr. Hope CME Church of Milledgeville, Georgia. She was a loving, kind and very generous person who didn't mind helping others.
Mary was greeted in heaven with arms by her mother and father, Ms. Ophelia Milner and Mr. Sam Holt; a daughter, Ms. Mary Delois Harris; three sisters: Ms. Otelia Wise, Ms. Annie Pearl Milner, Ms. Alberta Holt, of Gordon; four brothers: Mr. Eugene Milner, Mr. Henry (Joe Lewis) Milner, Mr. William T. Holt, Mr. Oscar Holt.
Mary is survived by her son Mr. James (BoBo) Harris, Jr.; two daughters: Ms. Lisa Harris, Mrs. Diann Harris Haddock Burden, all of Milledgeville, GA; one sister, Ms. Gwendolyn Holt, of Gordon, GA; three brothers: Mr. Fred (Barbara) Holt, of Macon, GA, Mr. Otis Holt, Mr. David Holt, of Gordon, GA; Mary also leaves to cherish her memories of twelve grandchildren: Chemika Harris Davis (Alex), Antonio Havior, Sammie Harris, Cynthia Haddock, Marvin Parker, Jr., Shanta Parker, Martain Parker, Marque Harris, Jennifer Harris, Christina Haddock, Rico Haddock, Lertrell Haddock, twenty-seven great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ms. Cornett Tucker, her caregiver, Lillie Reeves, a dear friend. The family want to give thanks to Alex Davis, Barbar Key, Diana Hunter, James Daniels, Shirley Johnson and Candace Young.
