Marilyn (Turner) Young

Mrs. Marilyn Turner Young, of 141 Princeton Drive NE, Milledgeville, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at Coliseum Medical Center, Macon, Georgia.

Funeral services were held on Monday, December 9, 2019 at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of All Faiths, Milledgeville, Georgia. Interment followed in the Mitchel Chapel AME Church, Sparta, Georgia.

Marilyn Young was born on August 2, 1955 Marilyn Young was born on August 2, 1955 to the parentage of the late Ms. Della M. to the parentage of the late Ms. Della M. Turner. Turner.

Marilyn accepted Christ as her Lord and Marilyn accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age and was a member of Savior at a young age and was a member of Mitchell Chapel AME Church, where she served in various capacities. 

Marilyn attended Hancock County School System, and because of her ambition and intelligence, she was afforded the opportunity to graduate in the 11th grade with the class of 1972.  Marilyn had a true passion to serve and care for others, which lead her to further her education in the field of nursing. Marilyn had astonishing work ethic. She worked for Central state hospital for over 30 years, and various nurses homes in the Middle Ga. area. Marilyn was a true humanitarian. Her love and dedication for her family was unwavering. She took pride in being of service to others and always greeted everyone with an affectionate hug.

Her hobbies included shopping, doing word search puzzles, frequent trips to the nail salon, getting her hair styled, and cooking. She was not an amateur in the kitchen.

Marilyn had a heart of gold and was known for her generosity. If she had $10 dollars and knew someone was in need, she would gladly give them half. She took delight in ensuring she never missed her love ones birthday, nor would she miss showering her family with gifts. She prided herself on being the rock of her family. Her legacy will indeed live on through all of the lives that she touched and inspired.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Della Mae Turner; two brothers: Nathaniel and James Turner.

Marilyn was living in Macon, Ga. with her daughter when she was called to heaven on Wednesday, December 4, 2019. She leaves to treasure her memories; three children: Terrie Tucker, Wakisha Young, and Sanorrio Young all of Macon, GA; sister & niece who she raised as her own, Angela Butts, of Milledgeville, GA, Taka Taylor, of Sparta, GA. Also, she is survived by five grandchildren: LaGuya Tucker, Trameria Butts, Jamaius Tucker, Edwin Tucker, and Paris Young. She also leaves behind four siblings: Betty Nelson, Larry Turner (Cathy), both of Sparta, GA, Linda Turner, Angela Butts (Bruce), both of Milledgeville, GA; one uncle, Edward Turner (Maggie) of Atlanta, GA, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
