On the morning of May 21, 2019 our dearly beloved Lucille Y. Hawkins was called home to be with The Lord. She died peacefully at her home, her favorite place.
Lucille was born to the late Jasper (Jack) Young and Carrie Milline in Putnam County, Georgia. She received her education in the Baldwin County School System and graduated from Carver High with the class of 1956. She married George O. Hawkins September 1, 1957 in Milledgeville, Ga. The couple moved to New York where they raised two daughters and she became a foster mother to many children. Eventually they moved their family back to Milledgeville, Ga where she retired from Ga College & State University as a food service worker.
Lucille was a kind and gentle person who loved spending time with family and friends. Everyone who knew her adored her beautiful smile, laughter, and inspiration. She will be missed but never forgotten.
She is reunited in Heaven with her twelve deceased siblings and great grandson, Davien Allen; she leaves to survive: one sister, Eva Mae Ray of Detroit, MI; her husband, George O.
