Mr. John Thomas Mathis, Sr., passed away on July 30, 2019 at Chaplinwood Nursing Home in Milledgeville, Georgia.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at 11:00 AM from the Griffin Memorial Chapel of Slater's Funeral Home. Interment followed in Bone Cemetery, Milledgeville, Georgia.
John Thomas (Bay Bay) Mathis, Sr. was born February 24, 1951 to the late Alberta Lee Mathis.
John attended school in Baldwin County. He was a truck driver for most of his life. He was also gainfully employed at Furniture City, C.S.H. and Gray Concrete.
John was married to Deborah Willis Mathis; she preceded him in death.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by one son, Mr. John T. Mathis, Jr., of Milledgeville, GA; one sister, Mrs. Sarah (Ricky) Adams, of Milledgeville, GA; one brother, Mr. Tommie Lee Mathis, Sr., of Milledgeville, GA; granddaughter, Angel Beltha of Milledgeville; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
