Janice Hill Obituary

Mrs. Janice Hill, 131 N Pickens Street, Milledgeville, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at her residence.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of All Faiths, Milledgeville, Georgia. Interment followed in Scenic Memorial Gardens, Milledgeville, Georgia.

Janice Hill, affectionately known to her family and friends as “Mint”, was born on April 21, 1957 in Baldwin County to the parents of Pauline Hill and Grady Birton who proceeded her in death. Janice attended the publicschools of Baldwin County graduating from Baldwin High School with the proud class of 1976.

Janice was a very hard worker and retired from Grumman Air Force Base in the Milledgeville Branch once the branch relocated, she went on to receive her certification as a Dialysis Technician as well as becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Due to her failing health Janice retired from the work force and enjoyed traveling by bus, car, cruise ship and anything rolling for her to enjoy a site seeing adventure.

Although she had to be dialyzed 3 days a week, she didn't allow her medical condition to interfere with her enjoying her family functions. More than anything she loved visiting her grandchildren and having them around as often as possible.

Janice raised and loved her sons the best she knew how and was devoted to ensuring that her grandchildren would always know how much she loved and needed them in her life.

Janice turned her life over to Christ at an early age being raised in the churches of Union Hill, Jordan Stream and Saint Mary, she joined Oak Grove Baptist Church #1 later in life where she served on the Usher Board as well as assisting on the kitchen ministry for special occasions.

After the recent passing of her youngest son Tavares, Janice started to faithfully attend Shiloh Baptist Church under the leadership and guidance of Pastor Shederick Ellington. Janice often spoke to her family members of how much she was learning about Gods word and His plan for her life. Janice spoke of how Pastor Ellington's teachings were helping her heal her broken heart through Prayer and having Faith.

On February 20, 2019, Janice gained her heavenly wings to join her mother, father, son and brothers Johnny and Tony Hill.

Janice leaves behind family and friends who because of her love for family unity, if we keep God first, we will get through this together.

Janice is survived by one son, Mr. Johnny Tavesis Hawkins (Latoriya) of Augusta, GA; three grandchildren, Armoni Hawkins, Jamar Hawkins, Jontez Hawkins; four sisters, Mrs. Louise Smith (William), Mrs. Cora Lee Russell, Ms. Patricia Lowe, Ms. Francis Birton; one brother, Mr. Darell Birton; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Mattie Hill; one uncle, Willie Hill; one aunt, Octavia Hill; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, family, and friends all cherish her memory.
