Gloria Chapple

Ms. Gloria Chapple, of Milledgeville, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Navicent Health Baldwin, Milledgeville.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 9:00 AM from the Griffin Memorial Chapel of Slater’s Funeral Home. Interment was held in Scott’s Chapel Cemetery, Steven’s Pottery, Georgia.

Ms. Gloria Jean Chapple was born November 26, 1968 in Milledgeville, Georgia to the parentage of Memphis Chapple, Sr and Ruth Briscoe Chapple. Gloria Jean Chapple was affectionately called Gloria by all whom known her. Gloria was educated in Baldwin County public school system and was a graduate of the class of 1988. She attended Central Georgia Tech for cosmetology. She loved the latest hair styles and often do her family and friends hair and nails. Gloria was employed at Georgia War Veterans. Afterward, she became a devoted employee at Baldwin Service Center for several years where she truly loved her peers and clients. They nicknamed her Glo because of her big bright smile and friendly personality. Gloria continued her career as a personal health care provider until her health declined.

Alongside being a dedicated employee, she was a loving mother and grandmother. For her grandkids, Gloria reached her into inter child and had fun with them. She loved cooking with her grandbaby or watching the Disney channel. Often, they would have a cook off contest or sing Disney's songs together. Gloria never met a stranger. She is most noticed for her good company. She always welcome anyone to her home and would cook them a good meal. She gave many the opportunity to relax and be themselves. She never judged an helped everyone anyway she could. It was nothing for family and friends to sit in her yard around a bonfire and enjoy each other company and fresh BBQ off the grill.

Gloria Jean Chapple transitioned into heaven on January 22, 2019 and was reunited with beloved family members and two grandsons who met her at heaven's gate, grandson, Isac May, Elijah Jones; parents, Ruth & Memphis Chapple, Sr.; siblings: Johnnie Lee Chapple, Cecil Chapple, Albert Chapple, David Chapple Jr,  Paul Chapple, Fannie Laura Chapple, Susan May Chapple, Louise Brown.

She will be truly missed by her daughters. Lakesha (Chris) Webb, Keara (John) Flournoy, both of Milledgeville, GA; grandchildren: Kylia Paschal, Kemies Webb, both of Milledgeville, GA; brothers: Leroy (Alma) Chapple, Memphis Chapple, Jr., James Lewis Chapple, all of Milledgeville, GA; sisters: Christine Chapple, Geneva Chapple, both of Milledgeville, GA; devoted family and friends: Diane Chapple Hooks, Joe Chapple, Julia Hightower, James Trawick, Virginia Daughtry, Leslie Edmond Prosser, Natacha Ansley, Ginger Young, Cynthia Richardson, Tiah Jackson, Lisa Ford, a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
