Evangelist Lavonne Reaves

Evangelist Lavonne Reaves, of 174 Ebony Lounge Road NE, Milledgeville, Georgia passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Navicent Health Macon, Georgia.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 11:00 AM from the Second Darien Baptist Church, Sparta, Georgia. Interment followed in the Hickory Cemetery, Sparta, Georgia.

Mrs. Lavonne Justice Reaves was born February 3, 1966 in Hancock County to the parentage of the late Mr. Douglas Justice and Mrs. Shirley Justice. She received her public schools of Sparta, Ga.

After graduating, she deciding to enter into the work force and was employed at the Sparta Pant Factory, Baldwin Manufacturing and Central State Hospital. She later decided to pursue a career in nursing while at Central State Hospital due to her love and compassion for others. After receiving her license, she worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse until retiring on disability.

Vonne, as she was affectionally called, was sweet, humble and caring. She had genuine love for her family and never met a stranger. Vonne always thought about how she could help someone else and did exactly that. She shared all that she had. No matter where you met her, she had some words of wisdom and mainly shared God's Word. She was one of the most talkative children in the family. Vonne held many positions in Greater Faith Revelational Outreach Ministries. She was an Evangelist, Senior Usher on the Usher Board, Treasurer, Choir Member, served on the Board of Trustees and sponsored the Tender Loving Care Clothing Ministry. Committees that she was a part of included the Public Relations Committee, Food Bank Committee, Fundraising Committee, Pastoral Care Committee and the Children's Bible Study Committee. She was also the first van driver for the ministry. Vonne loved the church and her family.

Her memories will always be cherished by: her loving and devoted husband of 32 years, Deacon Curtis Reaves of Milledgeville, Ga; son, Antario Demonte' (Cigi) Reaves; daughter, Kiamber Shantrell Reaves; grandson, Joziah D'Lon Reaves; granddaughter , Nakayla Tamia Dixon all of Milledgeville, Ga; mother, Shirley Justice of Sparta, Ga; sisters, Pastor Linda L. (Elder Sanford) Dickson of Macon, Ga; Missionary Patricia Justice, Sheila (Larry) Harper, Jeanice Ingram all of Sparta, Ga; brother, Kelvin (Pamela) Justice of Youngsville, NC; Vivian Mosley of Milledgeville, Ga; Shirley Reaves of Sandersville, Ga; mother-in-law, Rosa Lee Reaves; brothers-in-law, Freddie (Betty) Reaves, Jessie (Denise) Reaves, Aaron (Sylvia) Reaves and Michael (Julie) Reaves; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth (Arnold) Washington, Link Reaves and Maxine Reaves, all of Milledgeville, Ga, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
