Carolyn Brown

Ms. Carolyn Brown, Sandersville, Georgia entered into eternal rest on  Friday, September 7, 2018 at Augusta University Medical Center, Augusta, Georgia.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at 11:00 AM from the Oak Grove Baptist Church, 450 Oak Grove Road Sandersville, Georgia. The body will lie in state from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service. Interment was held in the church cemetery following the funeral services. A visitation was held on Monday, September 10, 2018 from 6:30 PM until 8:00 PM at Slater's Funeral Home.

Ms. Brown was born on March 6, 1950 in Sandersville, Georgia to the late Mr. George Brown, Sr. and the late Mrs. Perry Lee Morris Brown. She was a kind and loving person who enjoyed life to the fullest. 

"​Bet" as she was affectionately called by some had a loving personality. It was displayed in her love and affection to her students for thirty-five plus years as a bus driver for the Washington County Board of Education. 

Ms. Brown loved traveling to find the best restaurants to dine out. She also enjoyed attending church services with her family and friends, serving faithfully throughout her life as an usher at the Oak Grove Baptist Church, Sandersville, Georgia for many years.

Ms. Brown was preceded in death by her parents and one sister: Mrs. Mary Lizzie Hunt. 

She leaves to cherish her memory her four children: Mrs. Deborah (Darryl) Tanner, Tennille, GA, Mr. James Edward (Patricia) Middlebrooks, Sandersville, GA, Mrs. Bridget (Gregory, Sr.) Haynes, Tennille, GA, Ms. Jennifer Ann Middlebrooks, Sandersville, GA; six siblings: Mrs. Lizzie Mae McClain, Mrs. Louise (Tommy Lee) Brown, Mr. George (Alberta) Brown, Jr., Mrs. Jennie Mae (Otis) Taylor, Mr. John Willie Brown, all of Sandersville, GA, Mrs. Perry Lee (Thomas) Edmond, Dublin, GA; five grandchildren: Mr. RaShaun Tanner, Ms. India Johnson, Tennille, GA, Mr. Gregory Haynes, Jr., Sandersville, GA, Ms. Shantavia Haynes, Tennille, GA, and Sgt. Jeremy Middlebrooks, Afghanistan; a devoted niece: Apostle Saketha (Brinson) Yancey, Sandersville, GA; four devoted friends: Ms. Susie Mitchell, Sparta, GA, Patricia Ann Hagans, Ms. Jackie Washington, Tennille, GA, Mrs. Emma Brooks Martin, Sandesville, GA; several other relatives and friends.
