Ms. Carol Martin-Buck, of Milledgeville, Georgia passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Navicent Health Macon, Georgia.
Memorial services were held on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 11:00 AM from the Griffin Memorial Chapel of Slater's Funeral Home.
Carol Ann Martin-Buck, affectionately known a “Punkin” was born in Milledgeville, Georgia on June 2, 1952. She was born to the late Annie Drain and Charles Brown.
Carol moved to Detroit, MI as an infant with her siblings and her mother Annie, where she would spend her childhood. She successfully graduated from Detroit Public Schools. On June 6, 1970, she married Barnet Martin (they would eventually separate after many years together), of Highland Park, MI. Shortly after graduation, Carol began her career with Sears, Roebuck and Co. at the age of 18. As a result of many years of hard work, talent and dedication, she eventually worked her way up to Regional Manager. After 31 years of service she retired.
Carol was known for her caring nature, ambition, confidence, intelligence, generosity, class and style. She was kind, supportive and her sweet smile and delightful laughter would light up a room. She was an avid reader, traveler and a passionate football lover. What she truly loved most in life was her family.
Carol later returned to GA with her mother Annie joining her a short time later in 2001. She and her mother were inseparable. She enjoyed spending time and caring for her mother, Annie, the most as she was favorite person.
After a long bout with illness, our beloved Carol made her transition on January 18, 2020 with loved ones by her side. She was preceded in death by her mother Annie Drain, and her sisters Geraldine and Mamie.
Cherished memories that shall linger in the hearts of her beloved family include, her aunts and uncle, Lillian L. Wagner, Lula Mae Phelps, Grace Hawkins, Lucile Goddard, Willie Brown; siblings, Douglas and Ricky Buck of Milledgeville, GA; Janissie Drain of Detroit, MI; Nieces and Nephews, Betty Buck Maxwell (McKinley), Ernest Buck, Dennis Buck, Stephanie (Darlene) Drain, Douglas Buck, Jr. of Detroit, MI; Cynthia Buck, Ricky Holley of Milledgeville, GA; Dominique and Antonio Buck, of Columbus, Ga; Grandnieces and Grandnephews, Cenithia Bostic (Marcus), Jamahl Cutright, Dajan'e Maxwell, Deangelo Buck of Detroit, MI; Charmagne Thomas (Chad), Rashaun Mathis, Kyrie Holley of Milledgeville, Ga; Great grandnieces and nephews, Davion, Davari, Draya, Daiya, Sage, Kaylin of Milledgeville, GA; Jamiah, Alexander, Adrienne, Samiah of Detroit, MI; And a host of many cousins, other relatives and friends.
