During the later part of 1993, Carey joined the Body of Christ at Flipper Chapel A.M.E. Church under the pastorage of Pastor Ayo Bandele. From that point on she sought after the kingdom of God. She faced her giants, but her love for God and her faith in Jesus continued to grow. In 2008 she became a kidney and pancreas transplant recipient. Carey became the loving mother of three boys; Blake, Isaiah, and Kerry. They were the loves of her life. She taught them about Jesus and how they should love each other like He loved them. Her story is a testament to her faith in God. In 2012 Carey joined the Victory Baptist Church family under the pastorage of Bro. Ken Walker.

Carey leaves to cherish the memories of her love walk; her three handsome boys Aric Blake Malone, Marshaun Isaiah Malone and Kerry Elijah Malone; their dad Marshall E.
