Mrs. Clark, affectionately known as “Bet-Bet” to her great grandchildren, was born in Sandersville, Georgia on June 12, 1955 to the parentage of Ms. Jennie Bryant and the late Mr. Robert Hunter.

After completing her formal education in the Washington County School System, Betty went on to become a Licensed Practical Nurse through the Washington County Hospital Nursing Program and also received an Associate Degree from Georgia Military College where she was inducted into the Phi Kappa Theta International Honor Society.

She made her home in Baldwin County and worked at Central State Hospital for many years.  It was here that she met and became a part of the Ray Family and met the love of her life Mr. Wiley Clark.

Betty accepted Jesus as her personal Savior and joined Union Missionary Baptist Church where she found the rest of her extended family.   She was very active in her service to the Lord. She was a prayer warrior, devotional leader, Vice President of the Combined Choir, Coordinator of the area Combined Vacation Bible School Program, Sunday School member, Recording Secretary of the Union Aide Society, Secretary of the Hancock Missionary Baptist Association and served in any other capacity wherever and whenever she was needed.

Betty was a great cook and baker. She loved cooking many traditional dishes and especially her “broccoli casserole”.  She enjoyed helping others even though she would often be in pain herself. She a person that people enjoyed being around.  She was fun-loving and kind and was known to crack a joke and fuss with you. No one she met was a stranger to her . She leaves many memories for her loved ones to cherish.
