Mr. Willie Major Forney was born to the late Willie Davis Forney and Mrs. Epsie Mae Tucker Forney on March 14, 1945.
He was raised and learned family values and the power of the family bond. He has two living brothers, Mr. Frank S. Forney and Charlie L. Forney; three sisters, Jessie M. Hawkins, Mamie J. Edwards and Emma F. Moore, all of Milledgeville.
Willie was preceded in death by three brothers, Emmett D. Dorney, Nathaniel Forney, Sr. and Charlie R. Forney. Willie was called to rest on January 10, 2024.
Willie was married to Miss Juanita Warren. They shared the bond for fifty-six years. They were blessed with one son, Felix Bernard Forney, who now resides in Augusta, GA.
Over the years, Willie worked for various law enforcement jobs, including the Department of Correction. He joined Glance Mary Baptist Church, where he was ordained a Deacon. He took this position and was a role-maker of what his duties were, as he visited the sick and helped his friends and family. He had a love for fishing and gardening. Willie took pleasure in family activities and spending time with his son and grandchildren.
Willie's presence will definitely be missed by his son, Felix; granddaughter (and heart), Keambra Stevens; son-in-law, Neal Stevens; his six great-grandchildren; his siblings; sisters-in-law, Jacqueline D. Forney, Edna A. Forney, Maxine Butts Moss and Ruby Hurt; brothers-in-law, Robert Moss, Hillman Hurt, Richard Butts, Rufus Butts, Freddie Butts and Jimmy Butts; our second family by mother's marriages, the Primas family; devoted friend, Lanie Lewis; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; a host of cousins and the list goes on.
