Into the circle of loved ones, death has come with an unrelenting face, unhearing ears, and sealed lips. Once again a family has gone into the valley and left a loved one there.
Ms. Carol Odum Harper entered this life's rest in the afternoon of Monday, December 11, 2023, after a long illness. She was also a Breast Cancer Survivor.
Carol was born November 6, 1951, to the late parents George and Zenora Odum.
As a young lady Carol attended Baldwin County schools. During her years in high school, she was a majorette in the band. Throughout her years Carol worked at several factories. Before ending her career, she worked for the Baldwin County Board of education as a special needs' bus monitor, a job of which she loved.
Carol became a member of Green Pasture Church as a child. During her years of worship Carol was a member of the sweet chariot gospel choir and the senior choir. Her hobbies were listening to music, dancing, shopping and socializing. She enjoyed friends and family time especially with her grandchildren. She was loved by all who knew her.
Carol leaves a legacy of Love. Those who know her will remember her as a loving, generous and caring person. Carol will forever live in the hearts of many. Carol was preceded in death by her father, George Odum, Sr. and mother, Zenora Odum; her sister, Frances Anderson; brother, George Odum, Jr. She leaves a legacy of love and memories in the heart of her child, Lenora (Colby) Haper; grandchildren, Terrell Evans, Sylar Glenn and Jacoby Horne; siblings, Denise Odum, Larry Odum and Pamela Odum (Curtis) Morgan; brother-in-law, Donald Anderson; aunts, Harriett O. French and Christine Nelson; uncles, Sammie (Rosa Lee) Gendraw, Michael Pool and Milton (Jean) Scott; a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
