On the morning of Wednesday January 10, 2024, Burnstine Ransom was called home to be with the Lord. She was born on June 13, 1951, in Sparta, GA as the youngest of seven children born to the late Ms. Creasy Walker.
Burnstine graduated from Hancock Central High School in Sparta, GA and worked at Central State Hospital for 34 years before she retired. After retirement, she enjoyed gardening, traveling, visiting estate sales, restoring antiques, spending time with family and friends and serving on the Helping Hands ministry. Her admiration for vintage items inspired her to open a small antique shop that she operated for a brief time.
Burnstine received Christ at an early age and attended Shivers Grove A.M.E. church as a young adult and later became a member of County Line Baptist Church where she enjoyed serving on several ministries.
She was preceded in death by her mother Creasy Walker and three siblings, Anthony John Walker, Timmy Lee Walker, and Lillie Mae Boyer.
Burnstine leaves to cherish her memories: a son, Trevis (Stefanie) Ransom; daughter, Yuvonica Ransom; two sisters, Minnie (Willie) Patton, Mary Leslie; one brother, Ezell (Janice) Walker. She also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She will be remembered as a loving mother, devoted family member, trusted friend, and confidante.
