Jerry Antonio Basley

Mr. Jerry Antonio Basley, of 140 Stoneridge Circle, Milledgeville, Georgia passed away on Monday June 3, 2019.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 11:00 AM from the Faulks Chapel Baptist Church, 3141 Ga Highway 96, Jeffersonville, Georgia. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Jerry Antonio 'Tony' Basley was born on July 27, 1977 to the parentage of the late Josephine Basley and Johnny Ivey.  Tony grew up in Gordon, Georgia and was known for always being in a cheerful spirit.  Tony had a love of sports and enjoying family.

Jerry 'Tony' Basley attended the public schools of Wilkinson and Twiggs County, and received a diploma from Twiggs County High School.  After several years of employment, Tony was forced to retire due to illnesses.

Tony was married to LaQuitta French-Basley for 13 years.  Together they have a daughter,  Aldelyn Grace Basley who is a Daddy's Princess in every sense on the word and will miss nightly video chats with her dad.  Tony's oldest son is Darrius Jamal Harvey, who is a recent high school graduate and shares his Daddy's love for sports.

Tony fought a courageous battle, and on Monday, June 3, 2019, our Lord sent an angel to Tony's bedside to grant him rest from pain and suffering.  Tony was preceded in death by his mother, Josephine Basley and son, Chaz Antonio Basley.

Tony's memories shall always be cherished by his family which includes: LaQuitta French- Basley; children, Gracie Basley and Darrius Harvey;  his father, Johnny (Tina) Ivey – Irwinton; his siblings, Theron (Lisa) Basley – Milledgeville, Sandra (Thad) Anderson – Stockbridge; aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and hosts of other relatives and friends.
